What are dermal fillers?
As we age, we start to lose bone mass, fat, collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid from our face. This results in skin sagging and volume loss, turning fine lines and wrinkles into facial folds. The most common and key areas that are first affected are the cheeks and the lower face, causing jowls to appear and the nose-to-mouth folds to appear more deep-set.
To alleviate this problem, hyaluronic acid facial fillers are used for the renewal of a firmer, supple, and more defined appearance. Hyaluronic acid is a protein found naturally in the body and is injected non-surgically to fill areas of lost elasticity and restore volume in facial hollows. This creates an overall improvement in skin quality and gives natural, subtle-looking results.
How can filler be used?
Fillers can be used in singular areas of the face such as the cheeks or folds, or in a combination of targeted points across the face for tailored revitalisation for the face in its entirety. The treatments can be carried out on both men and women and will only be performed following a face-to-face consultation. Our clinic uses Restylane® and Juvederm® fillers, both of which give smooth and long-lasting results.

Restylane® and Juvederm® and Teoxane®
These are temporary hyaluronic acid fillers, which leave the results smooth and long lasting.
In most cases, 1-2 appointments are needed to achieve the best results. If a top-up is required, this will be given four weeks after your last appointment.
You can expect your treatment to last 45 minutes, including a detailed consultation beforehand.
Your results will be immediately visible following treatment.
You may feel some discomfort, but we can use topical anaesthetic numbing cream if required. We ensure you feel relaxed and comfortable before treatment begins.
No, there is no downtime needed after treatment and you can return to your normal daily activities straight away. However there are some restrictions:
- No makeup for 6 hours after treatment
- Refrain from any facials for two weeks
- No heavy exercise for 24 hours after treatment
- Be gentle when washing the filled area of your face
- Try to avoid unnecessary touching of your face for the first 24 hours after treatment
On average, results will last 6-12 months. You can then have a top-up treatment if required.
Yes, dermal filler is fully reversible with Hyalase, which dissolves filler quickly and effectively.
